The KTM Motohall in Mattighofen, Austria will host a special 'Legends of the Dakar' display until July 2023 to commemorate 30 years of Heinz Kinigadner and KTM competing in the Dakar Rally.

The "Legends of the Dakar" exhibition tells unseen stories and revisits key moments in the history of this amazing race, as told by people who have personally experienced the heat and cold, the highs and lows. The exhibition also includes a display of countless relics from this legendary event and ten Dakar bikes that made history.

"I feel a little bit honored to talk about the history of KTM and Dakar. When I first started in 1994, I was astounded by the media attention. It was much more than I got for my world titles, and I realized it might be beneficial to the brand. While the style and professionalism of racing have changed since then, the fundamentals of the race remain the same. It’s a big adventure,” said Kinigadner

KTM won the event 19 times with Fabrizio Meoni securing the first win back in 2001, and Kevin Benavides claiming victory this year.

Benavides said that winning this year’s Dakar was really the best feeling of his life and being part of KTM‘s Legends of the Dakar event makes him very proud.
